About to call it a night....and then....

I realized that I was slumming and was going to back out on my 2nd day----that is right, 2nd day, of the Couch to 5k. In all honesty, I didn't have the gas in my tank at all so I took a moment to get ready for work tomorrow and limped into my sweats and grabbed my ipod.

In case you missed the earlier post, I've downloaded the Couch to 5K running program from iTunes(free download). It coaches through from being on the couch (me!me!me!) to running 5K or 30 mins over a 9 week period. As you listen to nice energetic music and a pleasant lady coaxes you along through a five minute warm up, and then alternating 60 second runs and 90 second recovery walks(for 20 minutes) and finishes you with a five minute cool down walk. Each week it shifts a bit until you can run the full time (or so they say---keep an eye out here and I'll let you know if it will really really work for the really sedentary).

I said a little prayer, stepped outside and the air felt dazzling. It's about 44 degress--mild Virginia winter night and I just went and I tell you, I felt better each step of the way. About 15 minutes in a little sprinkly shower started---it was Divine intervention I'm sure, because it just felt terrific.

Now I'm blogging, and running on and on, because I'm wound up! But, it works.....the Couch to 5K and the little prayer. Hope this finds everyone well. Have an outrageously terrific Tuesday.
